Guide to measuring and photographing your space

The more complete your measurements and photos are, the faster and more accurate your quote will be.

How to take measurements

1Measure each wall fully, corner to corner — not just your current cabinets
2Measure the height from floor to ceiling
3Note the distance from the corner and the width of every door and window
4Note the location and size of your appliances (stove, fridge, dishwasher, etc.)
5Measure from the center of the stove, fridge, sink, and window to the nearest corner — not just the edge
6Mark where outlets, water/drain lines, and gas lines are
7Note anything unusual: columns, beams, or uneven flooring

1Take one photo of the entire room — even if you don't have a kitchen yet or it's still unfinished
2Stand in a corner and photograph the full wall, floor to ceiling
3Take a separate photo of each wall — not just one general shot of the room
4Make sure windows, doors, and appliances are fully visible, not cut off
5Use good lighting — avoid dark or overly glared photos
6If you already have a hand-drawn plan with measurements, photograph that too
